The University of Virginia School of Law announced this week that Payvand Ahdout, the Reginald S. and Julia W. Fleet Foundation Jefferson Scholar from the Class of 2010, will join its faculty as an expert in modern federal courts. Payvand received her J.D. from Columbia University in 2013 and has forged an impressive career, serving as a clerk for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, a Bristow Fellow in the Solicitor General’s Office at the U.S. Department of Justice, and an academic fellow at NYU Law School. She has spent several years examining the federal judiciary and its relationship to other branches and the states.
