
Jefferson Scholar alumna recently inaugurated as Yale University's 24th president

Maurie McInnis, JS ‘88, was recently inaugurated as the 24th president of Yale University. A respected cultural historian and academic leader, Maurie previously served as president of Stony Brook University and as provost at the University of Texas at Austin. She also served UVA for nearly two decades in a host of academic and leadership positions, including vice provost for academic affairs. Her appointment marks a historic milestone, as she brings a deep commitment to public service and the liberal arts–values at the heart of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation.
