Scholar alumna continues to drive growth and change at Stony Brook University
January 3, 2024
Just a few years after being named president of Stony Brook University, Maurie McInnis, a Jefferson Scholar alumna from the Class of 1988, has proven she is more than capable of increasing the school’s fortune and status. Under her leadership, Stony Brook has jumped considerably in the college rankings, from 93 to 58. Earlier this year, the school secured a $500 million unrestricted donation, the largest of its kind to any American public university. Stony Brook also received a new designation as one of New York’s two flagship universities.
