When Tahi Wiggins, the Randolph Preston Pillow Jefferson Scholar, was a senior at Northumberland County High School in 2018-19, she helped launch her school’s first Ted-Ed Club, delivering a platform to her peers for meaningful discussion about current events, social movements, and political beliefs. This summer, Tahi finds herself back in her hometown, joining forces with two fellow U.Va. students and former high school peers with a similar mission in mind. Together, they have launched “Main Street Speaks”, a new podcast that aims to keep community members in her hometown informed and engaged.
