National Fellow alumna awarded Pulitzer Prize for biography of J. Edgar Hoover

Columbia University announced today the 2023 Pulitzer Prizes. Among this year’s winners is National Fellow alumna Beverly Gage, who was recognized for her biography of longtime FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. Entitled G-Man: J. Edgar Hoover and the Making of the American Century, Gage’s book also won the 2022 National Book Critics Circle Award in Biography and the 2023 Bancroft Prize in American History and Diplomacy. In addition, it was named a Best Book of 2022 by The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and Smithsonian Magazine, as well as a New York Times Top 100 Notable Books of 2022.
