Jefferson Scholar receives Truman Scholarship to pursue her graduate studies
Lisa Kopelnik, the William S. Hunter Jefferson Scholar from the Class of 2025, joins 60 outstanding college students across the nation in being named a 2024 Truman Scholar by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation.
Established as a memorial to President Truman, the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation promotes the notion that a better future relies on attracting to public service the commitment and sound judgment of bright, outstanding Americans. Truman Scholars are therefore chosen on the basis of their academic success and leadership accomplishments, as well as their likelihood of becoming public service leaders.
As a Truman Scholar, Lisa will receive up to $30,000 for her graduate studies, as well as leadership training, career and graduate school counseling, and special internship opportunities within the federal government. Lisa is the 12th Jefferson Scholar to receive the prestigious award.
