Jefferson Scholar alumnus has created an innovative way to teach youth in Mississippi

Since graduating from UVA in 2020, Vilas Annavarapu, the Frank Batten Jefferson Scholar, has spent most of his time teaching middle schoolers in Jackson, Mississippi as part of the Mississippi Teaching Corps. Today, he no longer finds himself at the front of the classroom, but he continues his work in education, offering youth an opportunity to learn the principles of cooperative entrepreneurship.
