Jefferson Fellow develops wearable navigation system to help divers with underwater search and rescue

Giovanna Camacho, the Peter and Crisler Quick Jefferson Fellow, is an expert diver pursuing a Ph.D. in engineering at UVA. Over the last few months, she has been using her background in diving, a skill she picked up while studying at West Point, to develop a wearable navigation system designed to help divers with underwater search and rescue. Giovanna has enlisted the help of third-year Walentas Scholar Alex Taylor and second-year Jefferson Scholar Henry Bearden.
