Foundation has announced the names of 57 high school seniors selected to join the Jefferson and Walentas Scholars’ Class of 2027

The Class of 2027 includes 40 Jefferson Scholars and 17 Walentas Scholars. They come from 20 states and the United Kingdom and boast an impressive record inside and outside the classroom. They have held leadership positions in student government, on their local school boards, on athletic teams, in music and theatre, and many have founded organizations or held part-time jobs.
In total, nearly 1,000 UVA alumni and friends evaluated 2,627 nominations from high schools across the globe—a record high over the foundation’s 43-year history.
