Bio:

Vilde Aaslid is an assistant professor in the Music Department at the University of Rhode Island. She completed her Ph.D. in critical and comparative studies in music at the University of Virginia in 2014, with a dissertation on the intersection of jazz and poetry. Prior to her current position, she also taught at Brooklyn College and held a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship at Columbia University.
