Ashleigh Elser is an Assistant Professor of Religion at Hampden-Sydney College. Her research and teaching focus on biblical hermeneutics and the history of biblical interpretation. She received her PhD in Religious Studies at the University of Virginia in 2017 and an MA in Religion from Yale Divinity School in 2011. From 2017-2019, she was a Lilly Postdoctoral Fellow in Humanities and the Arts at Valparaiso University.
