Scholar alumna makes mark in New York City theater scene

Lear deBessonet, the James J. Bailey III Scholar, has joined the artistic team at New York City Center as the first-ever Encores! resident director. Founder of the Public Works program, resident director at The Public Theater, and recipient of multiple industry awards, including an Obie Award for Direction and Lortel Award for Best Revival, Lear has made a mark on the New York theater scene since graduating from the University in 2002.
