Sarah Koch, JS '17, goes to China to study impact of gender in science education with a Harrison Undergraduate Research Award

As a recipient of U.Va.’s Harrison Undergraduate Research Award, Sarah Koch, a third-year Jefferson Scholar majoring in Middle Eastern Language & Literature, traveled to China recently to investigate gender difference in science education. She and her research partner, fellow U.Va. student Orion Williams, visited schools in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, observing physics and chemistry classes and interviewing teachers and students.
