Risk & Resilience: Autism Families & Brain Science in the Time of COVID-19

The Jefferson Scholars Foundation is pleased to announce the continuation of its signature speaker series, JeffTalks. Join Kevin Pelphrey, the Harrison-Wood Jefferson Scholars Foundation Professor, on May 31 at 4 PM (EDT) for a webinar discussion on the risks and challenges of living with and treating autism during this unprecedented time.

Professor Pelphrey teaches in the School of Medicine and the Curry School of Education and Human Development at U.Va. He has had extensive experience teaching and conducting research at leading institutions across the country, including Carnegie Mellon, Duke, and Yale. Prior to joining the faculty at U.Va. in 2018 through the Jefferson Scholars Foundation’s Professorhip Program, Pelphrey served as the Carbonell Family Professor in Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders at George Washington University, as well as the founding director of the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Institute. His research uses brain science to develop biologically based tools for detecting and tailoring treatments for individuals on the autism spectrum.
