Marc Blatt, JS '17, introduces a new course at U.Va. designed to improve emergency responses to the Latino community
Over the last four years, Marc Blatt, the Holton-Arms School/Landon School Jefferson Scholar, has made an indelible mark both on the University and the Charlottesville communities, serving as a member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, on the editorial board of The Oculus Undergraduate Research Journal, as an advisor for ULink, and as a first responder on the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad.
In his role as an emergency medical technician, Marc quickly recognized a need for medical Spanish language training and, using his network of peers and faculty at the University, worked to address it by creating and teaching a student-run medical Spanish course designed specifically for first responders.
