Maddie Rita, JS '18, is one of 18 students across the country to receive a Luce Scholarship

Maddie Rita, the Penelope W. and E. Roe Stamps IV Jefferson Scholar, is one of 18 students across the United States to win a Luce Scholarship, a nationally competitive fellowship launched by the Henry Luce Foundation in 1974 to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society.
To win the Luce Scholarship, Maddie underwent an intense three-month-long selection process and emerged from a pool of 162 outstanding candidates nominated by 73 colleges and universities across the U.S.
