Fellow alumnus launches new startup with the help of JSF's Exploratory Fund

Before making his way to U.Va. in 2012 to pursue a Ph.D. in biology as the James H. and Elizabeth W. Wright Jefferson Fellow, Aaron Reedy taught science at a public school in Chicago. Six years inside the classroom there taught him that students learn science best when they have an opportunity to do science. In 2017, after receiving a $20,000 grant from the Jefferson Scholars Foundation’s Exploratory Fund, Aaron found a way to help students do just that. With seed funding from the Foundation, he launched what would eventually become known as DataClassroom, an educational technology company that produces the world’s first data analysis platform for K-12 science classrooms.
