Chris Halsted is a doctoral candidate in the Corcoran Department of History at the University of Virginia. Chris was recently awarded a 2018-2019 Gerda Henkel Stiftung Scholarship to support his research on 10th-century Slavic state formation. He is also working on two novels. Chris received his B.A. in history and Latin from Oberlin College and an M.A. in history from the University of Virginia.
